why

Hannover is Unesco City of music, and hosts a multitude of concert and events with the most influential pop artists of our time, important, high level cultural events, classical concerts and innovative formats. At the same time his underground and local scene is various and extremely active.

Despite that sound art, experimental music and local scene are somehow still seen to be too distant, somehow opposite and unrelated, having a harder time getting in touch with each other, especially in relation with nearby cities that excel in their mixed scenes.

what

We want to start a series of events which aim to shorten this distance, inviting emerging and affirmed artists with collective experiences and unconventional practices, to show broader possibilities for the music of the future, and at the same time give the artist communities in Hannover a closer look on how to develop Independent and sustainable art music events and scenes, alternative to the academic and the commercial ones, without sacrificing creativity, originality and bravery in experimentation.

who

The series of concert and collateral happenings will focus on artist coming from improvisation, experimental electronic and noise music, with a particular focus on artist using and developing DIY Analog Instruments and Synthesisers, or a non-conventional approach to open source softwares and live coding. The featured artists have also multiple and different experiences in independent art communities abroad and are part of successful art collectives, active as organizers of events and involved in collaborations with artists coming from different art scenes. Although coming from different places and experiences, they share a free and direct approach to sound.

how

In this sense, the womb will be a caring mother, inspiring and giving his primordial amphibious kids the first knowledge to be able to move independently in the sometimes complicate world of music. Through workshops, meetings, and an open

approach, we will share themes such a self development as an independent artist, how to start working on a own voice with what is available, how to work with DIY instruments, Open source softwares and electroacoustic sounds in genertal in an open frame. At the same time we will learn how to plan concerts and events, how to keep a community compact trough art and culture, networks with others, and how to make the organisation of such events beneficial and sustainable for the whole community.
